My Streets educational conversation cards are designed to teach young people about knife crime prevention, online safety and personal safety through interactive learning. Created for schools, youth organisations, and parents, My Streets helps young people develop critical thinking skills and make safer, more informed decisions.
How the cards work
The One-to-One Session
Best for: Mentors, parents, or 1:1 support workers
Duration: 20–40 minutes
Setup: One facilitator and one young person
How it works?
Participants take turns selecting question cards. The facilitator uses the answer cards to guide a deep-dive discussion, helping the young learner explore personal responsibility and risk in a private, low-pressure environment.
Goal: Building trust and individual safety awareness
The Small Group Challenge
Best for: Youth clubs, focus groups, or small breakout teams (3–6 participants)
Duration: 30–45 minutes
Setup: Young learners sit in a circle with one facilitator.
How it works?
Each young person is dealt a hand of “Question” cards. When a question is read aloud, participants must debate the best course of action.
Optional: Points are awarded not just for "correct" answers, but for the quality of the reasoning and peer-to-peer discussion
Goal: Developing social influence skills and peer-to-peer support
The Classroom Tournament
Best for: Full school classes or large youth organisations (10+ participants)
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Setup: Divide the class into small "Streets Teams" of 3–5 young people
How it works?
The facilitator acts as the “Game Master” at the front of the room. Each team selects a question card and must reach a consensus on their answer before revealing it. The Game Master and supporting adults carefully consider each team’s response, inviting further discussion and sharing key learning points with the wider group.
Optional: Use a scoreboard to track points across teams.
Goal: Universal safety awareness and collective problem-solving. Turning safety education into a high-energy, collaborative learning experience

Use real-life scenarios and follow-up questions to encourage deeper thinking, and where relevant, draw on lived experience to make topics feel meaningful and relevant. Every young person's context is different: listen actively, trust your instincts, and create a space where they feel safe to share and explore without judgement.
